Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Moves Closer To Redeveloping Its White Hart Lane Ground

23rd September 2011

Tottenham HotspurTottenham Hotspur Football Club (THFC) has moved closer to transforming its White Hart Lane ground after securing a Section 106 agreement and planning consent for the scheme.

The Premier League club had insisted that the Northumberland Development Project (NDP) was no longer viable and sought to take over the Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Games. However, efforts to revive the NDP appear to be on course and THFC has revealed that the latest announcement will allow for further discussions with relevant authorities.

At the heart of the KSS-designed scheme is a 56,250-seat stadium, while surrounding areas are also in line for regeneration with a hotel and public spaces among the proposals.

Haringey Council and the mayor of London have already backed the NDP, but the club has been unhappy at the lack of public funding that had been offered to support its vision.
