3rd May 2011

Multi Sport CentreDublin Lord Mayor Gerry Breen has officially launched the local authority's new multi-sport facility in Clontarf, following the completion of a EUR3.4m (£3m) scheme.

Facilities at Clontarf Road Sports Pitches include the city's first full-sized synthetic GAA pitch; a full-sized rugby/football pitch; a hurling wall; and changing rooms.

Breen said: "It's a great resource for Clontarf and the wider area and I would encourage sports clubs and lovers from all over Dublin to use it."

Dublin City Council's sports and leisure services will operate the facility. G Thornton and Scotland-based Sportslabs worked on the scheme.
