New Multi-sport Facility Opens In Dublin
3rd May 2011Dublin Lord Mayor Gerry Breen has officially launched the local authority's new multi-sport facility in Clontarf, following the completion of a EUR3.4m (£3m) scheme.
Facilities at Clontarf Road Sports Pitches include the city's first full-sized synthetic GAA pitch; a full-sized rugby/football pitch; a hurling wall; and changing rooms.
Breen said: "It's a great resource for Clontarf and the wider area and I would encourage sports clubs and lovers from all over Dublin to use it."
Dublin City Council's sports and leisure services will operate the facility. G Thornton and Scotland-based Sportslabs worked on the scheme.
