Stadium Build Middle East 2012

16th - 18th April 2012 at Renaissance Doha City Center, Doha, Qatar

Stadium Build Middle East

There is no doubt that sport is playing an increasingly important role in the region’s economy. Qatar will lead the way, with around $5 billion invested in delivering 12 world class stadiums for the 2022 World Cup. Sport has taken an integral role in the development and diversification of the country’s economy. Around $600 billion will be invested in infrastructure in the coming years – $65 billion of which will be directly related to the World Cup.

Qatar is not alone. Stadium and sports venues are planned, or in development, throughout the Middle East – including large stadia in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE and Iraq.

Stadiums are, by their nature, complex in design and present a multitude of structural and engineering challenges. For the architects, engineers, construction contractors and consultants tasked with delivering stadium projects the Middle East poses specific design, climatic and logistical challenges.

This growing business sector presents a real and significant opportunity for all contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, equipment and technology providers with specialist expertise and experience of developing large sporting stadia.
